President Trump signed the act that established the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in 2018.
Department of Homeland Security calls election "the most secure in American history"

Nov. 13 - A top committee made up of officials from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and its election partners refuted President Trump’s claims of widespread voter fraud and irregularities in a statement Thursday, calling the election "the most secure in American history."

The big picture: Trump has refused to concede to President-elect Joe Biden and is pursuing lawsuits in a number of states with baseless claims of voter fraud. The public statement from the president's own Department of Homeland Security undermines his narrative and is sure to infuriate him.

Nov. 13 - WASHINGTON/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Top U.S. cybersecurity official Christopher Krebs, who worked on protecting the election from hackers but drew the ire of the Trump White House over efforts to debunk disinformation, has told associates he expects to be fired, three sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.     continue to read

Report: White House pressuring CISA to stop debunking election nonsense [Updated]
CISA has aggressively debunked claims of fraud in the 2020 election.

Nov. 13 - After publication, the Elections Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and the Election Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Executive Committees issued a joint statement in which they called the 2020 presidential election "the most secure in American history." The statement continued:

"When states have close elections, many will recount ballots. All of the states with close results in the 2020 presidential race have paper records of each vote, allowing the ability to go back and count each ballot if necessary... There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."      continue to read

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden addresses the media in Wilmington, Delaware, on Nov. 10
And the Top Contenders for Biden’s Cabinet Are…
Biden’s final picks could ultimately hinge on two runoff Senate races in Georgia, which will determine who controls the upper chamber.

Nov. 11 -Even as U.S. President Donald Trump refuses to concede his loss in the 2020 election—and even appears to be preparing for a second term in office—President-elect Joe Biden is carrying forward with plans for a transition to the White House in January.

Over the course of a contentious election cycle, Biden made clear his direction for the country on the global stage if he won the presidency, signaling a return to multilateralism and repairing relationships with some of Washington’s closest historic allies. How he does so depends a lot on how he staffs his administration. (As the old adage in Washington goes, personnel is policy.)

Whom he’s able to get through Senate confirmation hinges in large part on who controls the Senate, and Republican control of the chamber depends on two heated runoff races in Georgia in January. “They shouldn’t have to factor in at all, but they will. I think we’re still so polarized that the Georgia runoff will have more effect on immediate nominations than might otherwise be the case in normal times,” said one Democratic foreign-policy insider, speaking on condition of anonymity.

If Democrats win a majority in the Senate, Biden will likely face more pressure from the left flank of his party to tap progressives to lead the State Department and other federal agencies. But if Republicans keep the Senate, it’s unlikely they would confirm such nominees, leaving Biden with a likelier pool of more centrist candidates for top jobs. No position is set in stone, and neither Biden nor Harris has spoken publicly about specific names for cabinet-level positions and other senior posts.

But based on conversations with nearly a dozen outside advisors to Biden’s campaign, Democratic foreign-policy experts, and other former officials, here are the top contenders for key administration posts in a Biden administration.      continue to read

Susan Rice. Rice, once a top contender for Biden’s running mate, has been a mainstay in Democratic foreign-policy circles since the Clinton administration. During the Obama administration, she served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations during President Barack Obama’s first term and then as national security advisor for much of his second term. Rice was in the running to replace Hillary Clinton as secretary of state but withdrew her name from consideration following the controversies surrounding the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attacks. Democratic foreign-policy insiders describe her as a top pick for secretary of state but concede she could face a difficult confirmation process if Republicans retain control of the Senate.     source

Nouri al-Maliki is one of many leading Iraqi political figures who have congratulated Joe Biden on his election to the US presidency. Here, on Oct. 30, 2013, when Biden was vice president and Maliki was prime minister, they greet each other at the Naval Observatory in Washington.
Iraqi officials welcome Biden presidency

While Iraqi leaders and officials have welcomed a Biden presidency, there are worries about what direction US policy will take when it comes to Baghdad.

Nov. 10 - Top Iraqi officials and other leaders were quick to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden on his electoral win, expressing hope that Iraq's ties with the United States will remain strong and even improve.

Iraqi President Barham Salih tweeted a message to Biden on Nov. 7, calling him a “friend and trusted partner in the cause of building a better Iraq.” Salih added, “We look forward to working to achieve our common goals and strengthening peace and stability in the entire Middle East."

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi expressed a desire to work with the US president-elect “on strengthening the strategic ties that bind Iraq and the United States, building on common values between our nations to overcome challenges together."

Other Iraqi officials, including the parliament speaker and Kurdistan Regional Government leaders, sent similar messages, expressing hope for better partnership and cooperation between the two countries under Biden's leadership.
In addition, the head of the pro-Iran State of Law coalition, Nouri al-Maliki — who was prime minister during much of the presidency of Barack Obama and the latter part of George W. Bush's — congratulated Biden on his win.     more details

Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei waving as he attends a gathering of Basij militia forces in Tehran. Khamenei on February 26, 2008 hailed President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's role in the "great success" of the nuclear program, amid threats of new sanctions against Tehran.

Iran Is Laughing at Trump and Placing Hope in Biden

The country is treating the outcome of the U.S. election as an opportunity—and a potential threat.

Nov. 8 - As U.S. President Donald Trump urged his followers to disrupt the counting of ballots, he provoked laughter from the leaders of countries to which the United States had long preached democracy. Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, tweeted, “What a spectacle! One says this is the most fraudulent election in US history. Who says that? The president who is currently in office. His rival says Trump intends to rig the election! This is how #USElections & US democracy are.”

Trump walked out of the U.S.-Iran nuclear deal in May 2018 and reimposed debilitating sanctions on the country. This “maximum pressure” policy punished the Iranian regime, but, as is often the case, it mostly hurt the Iranian people. The resulting absence of popular goodwill explains why Iranian Twitter so vociferously exploded with mockery at Trump’s post-election press conferences disputing the results; one Iranian said their own regime could never match the U.S. president’s success at undermining democracy on live television. Iranians were also quick to rejoice when Joe Biden was declared president-elect, expressing hope that he would restore normal economic relations.     continue to read

Melania Trump Plans To Marry Chris Evans In 2021

Nov. 10, Washington DC – President Trump is in meltdown mode. Since losing the 2020 election White House sources say he’s even more difficult to work with than ever before. When he’s not yelling at lawyers to undermine the vote in Pennsylvania, he’s gorging on McDonald’s and tweeting word salad in ALL CAPS. What many reporters are missing though is the dissolution of POTUS’ marriage with FLOTUS, Melania Trump, and her plan to remarry in mid-2021 to Hollywood superstar and liberal Chris Evans.

The Upcoming Trump Divorce
The Independent gazed into a crystal ball with the story What will Melania do next and will she divorce Donald Trump? While the future is uncertain some believe it’s only a matter of time before the First Lady files divorce papers.

The article states she wasn’t happy with Donald winning the election in 2016 and that she is “reluctant” to engage in the role of First Lady. Some believe it’s only a matter of time before the two split.   continue to read

President Trump isn’t conceding to Democratic presidential nominee Joseph R. Biden and has filed suits alleging voter fraud and irregularities in five states.
Trump legal team to file lawsuits alleging voter irregularities, fraud

Nov. 10 - President Trump isn’t conceding the November election and is getting ready to unleash a number of lawsuits this week alleging voter fraud and irregularities, as his legal team has already filed disputes in five battleground states.

The increase in litigation comes as Mr. Trump trails President-elect Joseph R. Biden in a handful of swing states by less than 1% as mail-in ballots continue to be counted.

Several news outlets, however, called the race for Mr. Biden on Saturday.

“Since when does the Lamestream Media call who our next president will be? We have all learned a lot in the last two weeks!” Mr. Trump tweeted on Sunday.

Rudolph W. Giuliani, the president’s personal attorney, noted three of the broader legal issues they’re raising in court challenges include backdating of late mail-in ballots, allegations of dead people casting votes and Republican poll watchers denied access to observe tabulations at various locations.

“I think we have enough to change Pennsylvania,” Mr. Giuliani said. “It would be wrong for [Mr. Trump] to concede.”

Mr. Giuliani plans to file more lawsuits Monday, saying they could target between four to 10 different states.     source

Biden team considering legal options if Trump administration keeps stalling the transition

Nov. 10 - ...CBS News and several other news outlets were not invited to participate in the call, but a separate transition official confirmed the quotes.

The General Services Administration (GSA) is responsible for overseeing a presidential transition, including access to Washington office space for the victorious candidate as well as easy access to all federal agencies so that "review teams" hired by the winning candidate can begin visiting agencies to meet with career officials and determine what potential policy changes need to be made.

The Biden-Harris transition office has been operational since late summer in accordance with federal laws dictating how a smooth and peaceful transition of power should occur.

The Biden-Harris transition team is considering pursuing legal action if the head of the federal agency overseeing the mechanics of a transfer of power doesn't move in the coming days to free up funding and access to agencies.

"We believe that the time has come for the GSA administrator to promptly ascertain Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as president-elect and vice president-elect," an unidentified Biden-Harris transition official said Monday night on a telephone briefing with reporters.

When asked if the transition team would possibly consider legal action to hasten the mechanics of the transition, the official replied: "There are a number of options on the table, legal action is certainly a possibility, but there are other options as well that we're considering,"     source
