The Commission on Presidential Debates has vowed to change the format of the next candidate clash after Tuesday's debate was called a 'national embarrassment' by Joe Biden but an unrepentant Donald Trump said it was 'fun.' The chaotic 90 minute debate, where the president repeatedly interrupted his Democratic rival and moderator Chris Wallace, was dubbed a 's*** show' and 'dumpster fire' by pundits. In the aftermath, critics demanded changes to the format and Wallace was faulted for not being able to control the unruly president, who would not stop talking.

Cricketer Tim Murtagh caught in case of mistaken identity with Donald Trump
One of Donald Trump’s key staffers replied to a veteran county cricketer as a case of mistaken identity involving the US President rolls on.

July 18, 2020Tim Murtagh is having more fun trolling Donald Trump’s critics than he does on a juicy green deck at Lord’s.

The former Ireland cricketer, who still plies his trade on the county circuit for Middlesex (or would be if it wasn’t for COVID-19), has been caught up in a case of mistaken identity involving one of Trump’s key staffers.

The seam bowler keeps copping a barrage of tweets from people thinking he’s the American President’s Director of Communications, Tim Murtaugh. And he’s having a right old laugh.

Murtagh the cricketer is re-tweeting up a storm of people coming after him thinking they’re actually attacking a member of Trump’s inner circle, and the 38-year-old veteran hasn’t been shy in playing along either.     source

Biden: Trump "trying to scare people" into not voting

Biden criticized the president for promoting baseless claims that voting by mail leads to widespread voter fraud, saying that the president was trying to depress the vote and discourage people from voting.

"We're going to make sure that the people who want to vote in person are able to vote," Biden said, encouraging people to turn out in person if possible. "This is all about trying to dissuade people from voting because he's trying to scare people into thinking that it's not going to be legitimate."

"He cannot stop you from being able to determine the outcome of the election," Biden continued. However, he said that if the election is conclusive, then Mr. Trump would have no choice but to leave office. "If we get the votes, it's going to be all over."
Mr. Trump continued to promote theories that there was ongoing voting fraud, even though the FBI director has said that there is currently no evidence of any effort to coordinate voter fraud.

"As far as the ballots are concerned, it's a disaster," Mr. Trump said. "This is going to be fraud like you've never seen."
He also said that "we might not know for months" what the outcome of the election will be, and suggested that the Supreme Court may have to determine the results of the election.

"I'm counting on them to look at the ballots, definitely," Mr. Trump said. If Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed to the Supreme Court, the court would have a 6 to 3 conservative majority.

Wife of Brad Parscale said he made suicidal comments 'throughout the week' before hospitalization, police report says

Sepl 29 - (CNN)The wife of President Donald Trump's former campaign manager, Brad Parscale, told police that her husband had made "suicidal comments throughout the week" before he was detained and hospitalized Sunday.

Candice Parscale told Fort Lauderdale police officers she believed her husband had shot himself because he was "ranting and raving" about something and was holding a gun. She left the residence and moments later heard a gun cock and then heard what she thought was a gunshot, police reports obtained by CNN said.

She had fled the home without her cellphone or other belongings, according to the report.Police on the scene realized Parscale did not shoot himself when they heard him ranting and pacing around the residence and the dog barking frantically, according to the reports. However, they were concerned that he might still try to shoot himself because he was in possession of several firearms and refused to speak to negotiators or to vacate the residence, the report says.

Later Monday afternoon, police released video of their contact with Parscale. The video shows Candice Parscale speaking to officers and telling police her husband was "acting crazy." An officer spoke to Brad Parscale on the phone and asked him to step outside the home several times. The video then showed Parscale walking out of the home and speaking to an officer, at which point another officer tackled him to the ground and handcuffed him.

Parscale can be heard repeatedly saying, "I didn't do anything," while on the ground.

Candice Parscale told police that her husband drinks and "suffers from PTSD." While speaking with police, an officer noticed bruises on her arms that she said she had suffered a few days earlier in a physical altercation with Brad Parscale, which she did not report.     more details

Eielson Air Force Base (AFB) (IATA: EIL, ICAO: PAEI, FAA LID: EIL) is a United States Air Force base located approximately 26 miles (42 km) southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska and just southeast of Moose Creek, Alaska. It was established in 1943 as Mile 26 Satellite Field and taken off deployment in 2007. It has been a Superfund site since 1989.[2] Eielson AFB was named in honor of polar pilot Carl Ben Eielson.[3]

Its host unit is the 354th Fighter Wing (354 FW) assigned to the Eleventh Air Force of the Pacific Air Forces. The 354 FW's primary mission is to support Red Flag – Alaska, a series of Pacific Air Forces commander–directed field training exercises for U.S. Forces, joint offensive counter-air, interdiction, close-air support, and large force employment training in a simulated combat environment. These exercises are conducted on the Joint Pacific Alaskan Range complex with air operations flown out of the two bases.[4]

Eielson was projected to have 54 F-35s arriving in April 2020 and continuing through 2022. The planes were to come with an estimated 3,500 personnel, to include airmen and their families as well as civilian personnel.[5] The F-35 program will increase the number of military personnel at Eielson by about 50 percent, which is a significant change for a base once on the brink of closure.[6]
